Abstract
The musculocutaneous nerve proceeds about the proximal portion of the humerus to pierce the coracobrachialis muscle and pass in the plane between the biceps brachii and brachialis muscles, and forms the lateral cutaneous nerve of the forearm. It has a short course and is placed deeply. Therefore isolated paralysis of the musculocutaneous nerve is rare and usually occurs together with other nervous injury of the brachial plexus. Several reports mention isolated
musculocutaneous nerve injury caused by direct trauma: surgical wound, bullet or knife wound, direct and violent impact. Lesions not associated with direct trauma are even rare which occur after malpositioning during anesthesia, secondary weightlifting, and repetitive activities of the arm.We present a case of patient who had an isolated musculocutaneous nerve palsy appeared after sleep with inappropriate arm position.
